Relaxation
Camping
From the beginning our foundation has laid
emphasis on organising summer camps.
We spent the first summer camp in Transylvania,
in Orotva. This small settlement is lived by Hungarians. It is far
from the noisy cities and situated in a valley surrounded by
mountains. We had been camping on a land for years which was owned
by a family, who attend to collect herbs. The camp had two goals:
one was self-development and team building; on the other hand we
wanted to help the locals to maintain their culture and traditions.
Being in a camp where schedules were tight and being really far from
home, started serious self-knowledge process in everyone. In the
evenings - after taking excursions and doing playful tasks during
the day - we set around the bonfire together with the locals and
sang, declaimed - for each other.
Our next camp was in Görgényszentimre (also in
Romania), where we set up our tents in the garden of the local
Hungarian Calvinistic manse. The way of camping and the goal was
similar to the former ones, but besides of building cultural
relationships, we also provided massage to people. Romanians and
Hungarians came together to us for a treatment or just for a good
word. We managed to develop an inward relation not only with the
Hungarian Calvinistic community, but also with the Romanian Orthodox
believers too.
In the past years we were looking for
possibilities to run camps in Hungary. We have different type of
camps: at early summer time we have a so called relaxation camp,
which serves as recreation and revitalising opportunity for our
members. After that there are 3 rounds of normal camps, similar to
those we had in Romania, and the series is closed with the cultural
and children camps. These opportunities have become more and more
popular every year.
